Artist Statement: A watercolor of Mikfik Creek at McNeil River State Game Sanctuary. During the summer people can watch wild brown bears up close that have become unafraid of humans. This amazing place to visit in Alaska is managed by the State of Alaska permit program which limits the number of people who visit each year.

The Alaska's Board of Game is threatening to open this protected area of humanized bears to trophy hunting. To find out more click here.
