Artist statement: Owls can see in the dark and see truth where we can be blind.  I created this image after an owl visited me one lonely night as I walked in the moonlight trying to escape the pain from a personal loss. When owls come this close, they cause me to pause and reflect. This experience actually opened my mind to the bigger picture than the grief. Was I being completely honest with myself or did I need owl medicine to see where I'd been blind? Life can be a "hoot" when I'm open to it's magic.
